Foot Reflexology

The first recordings of reflexology were found in Egypt inside physician’s tombs, 2300 BC.  There were pictographs of reflexology being applied.   Reflexology is the stimulation of areas beneath the skin to improve function of the whole body, or specific body area.  Reflexology gently nudges the body towards better functioning by: improving lymphatic drainage and venous circulation, it stimulates nerve pathways, relaxes the muscular system and a lot more.

Compression Massage & Chinese Medicine Massage Provides LONG LASTING RESULTS

Your sessions are tailored according to your specific needs.  Compressions are direct applications of pressure into a muscle, usually against underlying bone. It is a powerful bodywork tool with long-lasting results. Hypertonic muscles soften and lengthen.  The compression of muscles encourages your body to release histamines and dilate capillaries.  This modality decreases and in some cases eliminates pain as trigger points are worked on.  Range of motion and freedom of movement is also increased.  The direct pressure on vital points releases blockage in the muscle.  Pressure applied to specific points has been known to reduce stress and improve sleep habits.

Acupressure…Acupressure and acupuncture share the same active points.  The Chinese developed this system of active point stimulation 5,000 years ago.  They believed that active point stimulation clears the meridians and improves the flow of energy.  In healthy people, energy freely flows through meridians thus in turn maintains adequate blood flow.  Obstructed chi flow/energy results in dis-ease or illness.

***Stimulation of active points is thought to lead to increased release of endorphins.  Endorphin is a natural body painkiller.  Morphine and Endorphin are chemically different but they are scientifically shaped the same.  The similarity in shape allows morphine to bind the endorphin receptor, reduce pain, and induce feelings of happiness and or contentment.

***Endorphins released by acupressure stimulation may lead to relaxation and normalization of body functions.

***How often should I have a treatment? It varies; our recommendation is from every day until your pain subsides to once per week for wellness and prevention purposes.

Chi...or (qi) is that which gives life. In terms of the body, chi is that which differentiates a corpse from a live human being.

Energy centers...Chakras

Chakras…are centers of energy, located on the midline of the body. There are seven of them

Meridians…are invisible pathways or channels on the body. Our vital energy, or "chi," is thought to flow along these meridians, and anything that disrupts the smooth flow of chi is said to cause illness.

Pressure point therapy (Acupressure)…uses ancient acupressure trigger points to release tension and increase the circulation of blood, heightening the body's vital life energy to aid healing.
